A stellium is a cluster: three or more planets in the same sign, or in the same house. There is nothing else in the definition, no aspect required, no compulsory planet, no maximum number of degrees between them. It is a count.

The traditional reading says the area of life the cluster falls in becomes concentrated: more weight, more insistence, more of the same. That is a fair reading. What almost no text mentions is the frequency, and the frequency changes everything you can say afterwards.

Sweeping a hundred years of sky every six hours, 68.1% of charts have three or more planets in the same sign. It is not uncommon: it is the majority. Two in three.

The count uses the usual ten bodies, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. And it answers the question that brings almost everyone here:

With 3 planets in the same sign, it is 68.1% of charts; with 4, 19.8%; and with 5, 3.6%.

It is between three and four that the thing stops being common. A cluster of five is genuinely uncommon, 3.6%, and that is the one worth calling an exception. Three is not.

The number is so high because Mercury and Venus cannot get away from the Sun. They orbit inside the Earth’s orbit, so from here they always stay close by. Measured over a hundred years, Mercury never got further than 27.8 degrees from the Sun, and Venus never further than 47.2.

A sign is thirty degrees wide. So those two land in the Sun’s sign constantly, not by meaning, by geometry:

In the same sign as the Sun, Mercury is in 51.0% of charts; Venus, in 23.7%; and both at once, in 12.3%.

That last case is a stellium the orbit hands you for free. In 12.3% of charts the Sun, Mercury and Venus sit in the same sign, and calling that a concentration of destiny is mistaking the mechanics of the solar system for somebody’s biography.

You can see the size of the effect by taking the two out of the count. With eight bodies, without Mercury and without Venus, three or more in the same sign drops from 68.1% to 33.5%, and four or more drops from 19.8% to 3.9%. Half the phenomenon was the orbit.

A stellium’s sign belongs to the century, not to the sign. That is what decides whether “stellium in Capricorn” says anything about you. The slow planets sit still in a sign for years, Neptune spends fourteen years there, Pluto up to thirty. While they are parked, everyone born gains weight in that sign.

So the question is not which sign concentrates stelliums, but which one is concentrating them this century. The count that follows is the same measurement made in three different centuries:

In the windows 1930–2030, 1830–1930 and 2030–2130, in that order, each sign's share of stelliums is: Aries, with 7.6%, 12.4% and 10.7%; Taurus, with 7.1%, 16.3% and 13.8%; Gemini, with 7.2%, 12.4% and 8.1%; Cancer, with 6.6%, 9.5% and 8.9%; Leo, with 8.1%, 6.7% and 8.4%; Virgo, with 11.7%, 5.5% and 7.3%; Libra, with 10.4%, 6.1% and 8.5%; Scorpio, with 8.6%, 5.2% and 6.8%; Sagittarius, with 8.6%, 6.9% and 6.1%; Capricorn, with 11.8%, 5.7% and 6.6%; Aquarius, with 6.8%, 7.4% and 7.1%; and Pisces, with 5.5%, 6.0% and 7.8%.

Virgo is the second-to-last sign in 1830 and the second in 1930; Capricorn is the first in 1930 and the second-to-last in 2030. The same calculation, the same sky, a hundred years apart. No sign has a vocation for gathering planets, what exists is the place the slow ones happened to be passing through when those people were born.

And notice what does NOT change: the overall rate stays at 68.1%, 67.9% and 65.2% across the three windows. The stellium is common in any century; what moves is its address.

That is why there is no page here for each stellium sign. It would be describing a generation, and saying the same thing twelve times under different names.

The stellium by sign does not need the birth time; the one by house needs it very much. Measured in São Paulo, 72.3% of charts have three or more planets in the same house, and 24.8% have four or more, the same order of magnitude as the sign figures.

The difference is the fragility. The houses turn a full circle every day, so getting the time wrong moves the cluster’s address:

Getting the time wrong by 15 minutes, 25.9% of house stelliums change; by 30 minutes, 43.1%; and by 1 hour, 68.5%.

An hour of error and more than two thirds of house stelliums change house or stop existing altogether. Anyone unsure of the time has a reliable sign stellium and a house one that is guesswork, and it is honest to know which of the two is being discussed.

A stellium is not a mark of destiny, and it is not uncommon. Two in three charts have one; a text presenting yours as a sign of special mission is telling you a statistic backwards.

And it does not say which sign you are “more” of. A cluster of Sun, Mercury and Venus is, in practice, the Sun and its compulsory company. Three names, one piece of information.

What is left after the exaggeration comes off is still useful: where there is concentration, there is repetition of subject. A chart with four planets in the same house returns to that ground more often than a scattered one. That is an observation about emphasis, and not a promise.

A limit said out loud, because it is part of reading seriously: none of this is prediction. Astrology describes tendency and gives vocabulary for what a person already lives, it does not determine what will happen, and nobody should be selling that.

And the questions that come up most on this subject, with the short answer:
